Answer: Behavioural perspective to health care administration with respect to patient and family centred care and its relation to Trait theory and the skills approach Healthcare leadership can be defined as the capability of leader to motivate health professionals and organizational excellence, cultivate common vision and effectively manage change to achieve strategic goals and performance of the company (Frampton et al., 2008). Leaders are responsible for vision, communication and guidance and thereby leadership engagement promoting organizational culture of patient and family centred care needs to be based on ethical aspect. In the process of promoting patient and family centred care model is directly related with the approach of care planning, service delivery and monitoring mechanism and exhibit the behavioural perspective to health care administration. Leaders needs to undoubtedly articulate commitment of the hospital to satisfy the unique requirement of the patient to ensure the patient and family centred care (Frampton et al., 2008). In addition the leaders illustrate that obligation by open communication, taking and improving feedback from the staff, service users, families and relatives and providing the staff with resources and flexibility required in promoting the patient and family centred care. Leaders create the environment for effective execution of patient and family centred care by exhibiting them in their own behaviour and values. Trait approach of leadership emphasis on the personality of the leader while the skills approach emphasis on the knowledge and capabilities possessed by the leader, thus by learning skills he can enhance the personality and behaviour (Bohn, 2002). In context to patient and family centred care it is learning of this new approach to health care that can enhance the health care leadership of the leader and it exhibit how trait theory and the skills approach related to the behavioural perspective of the leader.
